Unfortunately it feels like nothing is happening in Guatemala again. We've gone back to saying "if Ali comes home" rather than "when Ali comes home." We haven't heard a word from our Guate agency in weeks, so it's hard to remain hopeful. Things in Guate have gotten worse as far as cost of food, etc. The people are having a very difficult time with some of them getting really desperate and looting villages, stealing food, and even stealing electrical lines. Supposedly the cost of a single egg is now up to $1.
If our Guate agency ever decides to contact us again, maybe we'll be out of the country picking up Chloe. It's much easier to stay focused on that trip now and let myself be excited and happy for that baby sister.
This is what we think of Guatemala's adoption process...
