Slow moving in Guatemala

No the doctor did not finish his report last week and turn it over to our attorney. Did anyone REALLY think he would?! But our attorney did check with the "forensic institute" which says the doctor's report has to go directly to the judge (as it should & as we hoped it would), and they claim that they will be sending it over to FC#6 on Wednesday. Our attorney is planning on going to the court on Wednesday to check that the doctor's report did indeed make it there. Then it's just more wait and see. Could wait a day and get a final decision. Could wait several months and get a request for something else inane to help the judge avoid ever having to make a decision on this case.

And my favorite route on USAir through Charlotte to Guatemala City is gone. Vanished! It looks like USAir dropped all their flights to GC. And all the other routes to get from here to there stink. Makes it feel like Ali is even farther away. We can get to Nanjing, China more directly than GC now. And the price difference is negligible. We'll figure it out if the time comes and at least the kids are all staying home this time.

On another note, someday our adoption processes will all be behind us, and then maybe I'll turn the blog into a parenting-a-lot-of-kids blog rather than an adoption blog. Speaking of parenting a lot of kids, anyone out there with a lot of kids who has done the math to decide whether or not dental insurance is actually a good deal? It's starting to look like it might be, even with the self-employed bread winner making an individual plan the only option. If Ali comes home and her teeth haven't miraculously un-decayed from how they were a year and a half ago last time I saw her, we'll be looking at more than our once every six month check-ups for seven people. Add to that: #1 is getting a retainer next month. And the orthodontist has promised us that #1 will need a full mouth of metal once all his big guy teeth have come in. Delta Dental here we come!

No new pics with his post, sorry. We had a lovely fall outing at the orchard with our friends who all have daughters from China, but we left the camera in the car. It was Cupcake's first ride in the Kelty backpack carrier and therefore J could not stop moving or she'd screech in his ear. At the of the outing, our friends took a shot of all the girls semi-together, so hopefully I'll get an email with one of those. Hint hint, friends.
