We have been having a lazy last day in Guangzhou. It's been a bit gray and rainy on and off. We managed to get to one last shop this a.m.. It's a great store that gives part of all the money they make to orphanages in China. Plus they have lots of really cute and inexpensive clothes! Other than that we played in the giant White Swan playroom with tons of other babies/kids. Ordered room service for lunch while Cupcake's been napping and I've been packing.
In just over 1/2 hour we are off with the other families in our group to the US Consulate where we swear an oath to never harm or neglect or abandon our new children and then they say "Congratulations!" and hand us our kids' visas to go home tomorrow!!!
There are things we will miss about being here now that we have really adjusted. Everyone is so friendly. Kind of makes Americans look like jerks. And living in a 5 star hotel is not hard to get used to. Who's going to clean the bathrooms twice every day and make the beds every day? And we'll have to actually open doors for ourselves?! And the breakfast...don't even get us started on how much we'll miss the b-fast.
But I am ready for raw veggies and good milk.
