We met Cupcake one month ago today. And today she allowed Dada to pass her from his arms to mine without fussing! A first. I think she and I had some good bonding time when I took her for the afternoon and evening to a last minute appointment that opened up at the pediatric orthopedic doctor's office. She screamed the moment he walked into the room and clung to me like I was Dada. She even rested her head on my shoulder, another first. And the best news is that the doctor said she looks great. He said he hopes that his infant patients with torticollis look as good as Cupcake does when they reach 21 months. They did a pelvic X-ray to check her hips since hip displasia (sp?) is connected to torticollis, and hers look perfect. That X-ray also reassured us that her sacral dimple is of no concern either since her lower spine looks normal too. All good news that I was pretty sure was coming. We'll go back in six months when she is more settled in with us and get a neck X-ray to double check everything. The doctor was not concerned enough to put her through that today since she was letting him know exactly how she felt about doctors- loud and clear.
The only complication with our outing was the three hours in the car and the fact that she napped most of the way home at 5:30, so now she is up and ready to party. Kids go to sleep in our house at 7 on school nights, and she is loud when she's happy. This kid has one girly squeal. Not sure how or when we'll get her to sleep tonight, but we'll just consider it a mini celebration of our first month home and how far we've come.

So glad to hear your good news about the cupcake and her appointment and her bonding with Mama. We're still taking it day by day here with the meltdowns, mostly during transitions. Distractions usually help.
All the best!
Tracy
