Where we Stand in GC

Here's what we learned today:

1) Calling the Embassy's Adoption section during the 1 hour window on T, W, or Th during which they will actually answer the phone is worthless. The person who they allow to speak to the adoptive parents knows nothing about the cases.

2) We still believe that the document was indeed submitted last Wednesday but since the newbie for the attorney's office did not get it stamped "received" we have no proof and therefore the Embassy can deny that it was submitted since they win the argument no matter what.

3) It was resubmitted this morning, and I had a copy of the stamped receipt in my inbox by noon. Woo-Hoo!

4) It *should* take 2-3 business days to notify us of our visa appointment, if that is what their next move is going to be, and Monday the Embassy is closed for Memorial Day. So maybe Tuesday we will hear about an appointment.

5) We are now hanging our hopes on J leaving the 31st or 1st for a visa appointment the 2nd of June.

And here at home I learned that Cupcake is one brave, little toddler who could care less that the lake water was only 58 degrees today as she waded, splashed, and then plopped right in. But she does show a tidbit of fear when a group of mallard ducks turns on her.
